Description

These flavorful lamb burgers are tender, juicy, and bursting with Mediterranean-inspired spices. Topped with a creamy garlic aioli, fresh toppings, and served on your favorite bun, they make a perfect gourmet meal that’s easy enough for any night of the week.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb (450g) ground lamb (80–85% lean)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 small onion, grated
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (optional)
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp olive oil (for cooking)
  • 4 burger buns
  • Lettuce, tomato slices, red onion, and sauces for serving
  • Garlic Aioli:
  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced or made into a paste
  • 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • Pinch of salt and black pepper

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, gently mix ground lamb, minced garlic, grated onion, parsley, cumin, salt, and pepper until just combined. Form into 4 equal patties, about ¾-inch thick, pressing a shallow indentation into the center of each.
  2. To make aioli, combine mayonnaise, garlic, lemon juice, salt, and pepper. Chill for 30 minutes before serving.
  3. Heat grill to medium-high (400-450°F) or heat olive oil in a heavy skillet over medium-high heat. Cook patties for 4–5 minutes per side (grill) or 5–6 minutes per side (skillet), until internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).
  4. Toast buns during the last minute of cooking. Let patties rest for 1–2 minutes.
  5. Assemble burgers with aioli, lettuce, tomato, red onion, and desired toppings.

Notes

For extra flavor, add fresh chopped mint or rosemary to the meat mixture.

Use gluten-free buns or lettuce wraps as a gluten-free option.
