  • 2 ¼ cups Bisquick™ Original Pancake & Baking Mix
  • ⅔ cup milk
  • 2 tbsp melted butter (optional)
  • 2 tbsp chopped fresh herbs (optional, such as parsley, chives, thyme, or rosemary)
  • ¼ tsp garlic powder (optional)
  • ¼ tsp onion powder (optional)
  • ¼ tsp black pepper (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, mix Bisquick with optional dry seasonings.
  2. Add milk and optional melted butter and herbs; stir gently until just combined. Do not overmix.
  3. Drop spoonfuls of dough onto the gently simmering stew, spacing them about 1 inch apart.
  4. Cover the pot and simmer on low for 10 minutes—do not lift the lid.
  5. Uncover and simmer for an additional 10 minutes. Check doneness with a toothpick.

Notes

For tender dumplings, use cold milk and avoid lifting the lid during the first half of cooking.
